The PV Designer uses minimum temperature and maximum temperature for limit checks on the voltage and power into the inverter. For example, a string’s maximum open circuit voltage is checked (at minimum temperature) to ensure that it does not exceed the maximum input voltage for the selected inverter. If the limit is exceeded, then the yellow “caution” triangle is displayed in the results area. To see a description of the error, move the cursor over the yellow triangle and hover there, and the limit notes will be displayed. Minimum and Maximum temperature values for specific locations can be found on the Weather Channel at www.weather.com. Search for monthly data at your location, then “average”, then look at records.
